Gaziantep

I was about to add paintings to the web when the images of the earthquake appeared on the screen. Tall buildings dropping to the ground, people trying to move lumps of rubble that block the way to a loved one, others dazed, horrified, helpless in the enormity of the disaster. Anything I was about to do is now trivial, pointless in the face of these images. What thoughts, what feelings can grasp the suffering of the people.

I see a show with some mad, gigantic figure flattening cities with hammer blows, no purpose, no meaning. Is our earth also suffering? I have given the quake a name, Gaziantep. It is a city and I believe a region. Another place may have had even more destruction.
